Fairhaven was originally created in 1892 as a 12-holer on the coast, but moved inland to Lytham Hall Park in 1924 when Braid created humps, hollows and bunkers which still characterise the course today. Dave Thomas made further changes in 1977 to tighten the course by raising the profile of the bunkers and re-shaping some greens.
