Talk about January bargains. It’s got to be the golf deal of the year. Well so far, anyway. Hampshire-based club Sandford Springs GC is offering new members a free one-to-one golf lesson… for each of the 365 days of the year!

That remarkable offer means new seven-day members would be making a profit if they took advantage of just ONE of the lessons per week. Annual seven-day membership currently costs just under £22 per week; and with a one-hour lesson averaging £40, it’s clear there’s unlikely to be a better membership offer currently on the market.

Sandford Springs’ general manager, Andy Wild, explained: “This offer is unique and outstanding – and we would anticipate a huge amount of interest in it.

“You don’t need a degree in applied mathematics to see that if you are a keen golfer it’s a really good deal financially – even if you just played golf twice a week it would be only around £11 a round. Throw in a couple of lessons and, metaphorically speaking, you’re well in profit.”

Anybody taking advantage of the offer is entitled to the same benefits as all members of Leaderboard clubs, which includes the opportunity to play the other Leaderboard-owned courses – the Nick Faldo-designed Chart Hills, in Kent; The Oxfordshire; and Dale Hill Hotel & Golf Club, in Sussex where you’ll also get the chance to stay at the four-star Dale Hill Hotel at greatly reduced, special member rates.

And to ensure the membership offer is available to all, the annual subscription can be spread over 12 monthly direct debit payments.

Sandford Springs has three loops of nine holes – the Park; the Woods; and the Lakes – is situated amid the rolling Berkshire and Hampshire hills and never uses temporary greens or tees.

■ The membership offer and one-to-one lessons are all subject to availability. One-to-one lessons do not include playing lessons. Normal terms and conditions apply to the offer.
