There’s been a few sneaky tour previews of TaylorMade’s visually stunning new putter for 2008, the TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider.

A growing number of PGA tour players have been keen to try the revolutionary TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider design lately and its already been in play during the most recent two tour events.

One convert is past Masters champion Mike Weir, and TaylorMade officials also say they expect to see pros such as Sergio Garcia to give it a trial shortly. A total of 12 of the new putters were in play at last week’s Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines and the Europeans will get their first taste of the new TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider in Dubai this week.

In addition to high-MOI features, such as enormous volume, and a variety of alignment guides which allows for consitency on off centre hits, the TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider’s primary attribute is the “anti skid groove system insert.” (AGSI+). This ensures a perfect contact with the golf ball.

Made of a lightweight but durable seven-metal alloy, the putter face insert is designed to reduce skid and impart forward roll on the ball as early as possible. This is achieved in part by 14 tiny polymer-filled face grooves.

We are trying desperately to get hold of some pics for you as soon as poss (and maybe even the putter itself!). So keep checking www.todays-golfer.com for more info!
