Controversial ex-soccer referee Graham Poll will be seeking welcome some peace and solitude on the golf course on Thursday July 5.
Poll, who infamously awarded three yellow cards to the same player in a vital World Cup match in Germany last year, recently hung up his whistle following a highly eventful career of ups and downs.
Now he’s hoping his golf game will benefit as a result of him having more time on his hands, kicking-off with his appeaerance in the star-studded Peter Ebdon Golf Classic at Collingtree Park, near Northampton early next month.
The event is in aid of children’s charity SPARKS and will see Poll oppose a number of familiar faces, including ex-footballers Bruce Grobbelaar, Ray Clemence and Alan McInally as well as actors Tim Healy, Dennis Waterman and Johnny Briggs.
