Surrey-based Paul Williams is on his way to top Spanish resort La Manga – thanks to holing a 100ft putt at the recent London Golf Show.
Thousands of golfers attempted the feat over the four days of the show but 12 handicapper Paul was one of only a handful of people to sink the monster putt. In fact it took him only two attempts.
Now he’s heading for five-star La Manga for a five-night trip for two after being pulled out of the hat as the winner of the fantastic prize. It’s fair to say he’s still in a state of shock, saying: “I’m just a normal golfer – my putting is nothing special and I definitely wasn’t expecting to hole out with my second effort.
“I went to La Manga three years ago and have always been looking for the chance to go back and now I’ve got the perfect excuse.”
The other successful marathon putters received a £250 voucher for use against any future Barwell or Golf Groups Direct holiday.
