Kevin Brown

Courses and Travel Editor

Kevin Brown is the Courses and Travel Editor of Today’s Golfer

He has served the UK’s No.1 golf magazine since 1995, firstly as a staff writer before being made Courses Editor more than a decade ago.

His role has seen him play golf across the globe, teeing it up at most of the world’s best courses, although the likes of Pebble Beach, and Royal Dornoch remain on his hit list.

The left-hander, who plays off a 15 handicap, started his golf journey as a teenager when the local municipal course – the Peter Alliss/Dave Thomas-designed Thorpe Wood in Peterborough – opened in the mid-1970s. He’s solid from the tee but is let down by his short game, often choosing to putt from distances more suited to a pitching wedge!

During his years on the magazine, Kevin has interviewed all of the legends of the game, including Tiger Woods, Seve Ballesteros, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Gary Player, along with a host of golfing celebs in the popular ‘Play You For a Tenner’ (later upgraded to £20), and ‘My Life In Golf’ features. He couldn’t overcome veteran rocker Alice Cooper, but has seen off the likes of Samuel L Jackson and Damian Lewis.

Before joining Today’s Golfer, Kevin worked on the sports desk of the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, where he started straight from school.

Away from golf, he’s a lifetime supporter of Chelsea Football Club and has followed them across Europe, and a huge music fan, with ‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen his hero.
