Donegal Golf Course

What we say

Donegal Golf Club presents one of the best and most enjoyable challenges an accomplished golfer can hope to face.

Donegal, or ‘Murvagh’ as it is commonly known, is a par 73, 7,385-yard beast.

Designed by Eddie Hackett, it is a big, long and peaceful links course that sits on its own peninsula surrounded by the beauty of County Donegal.

There are no significant elevation changes, but the landscape tumbles dramatically on those holes closest to the sea, creating a hypnotic and deceptive rhythm.

You will find space to play but the par-3 5th is named ‘Valley of Tears’ which should tell you all you need to know.

Darren Clarke has won here and reveres it and while it is true it is a robust links best suited to the strong player, the forward tees permit it to be played by all levels.

There are some seriously large sand hills to be negotiated at Murvagh, the like of which you rarely see outside Ireland, and if explosive big dune golf is your thing, you will love it here.
