Golf d’Aro-Mas Nou

What we say

Golf El Puerto has that grin factor in spades. It’s not a mega-hard, but there are enough bunkers and water to keep you on your toes. This is a fantastic new course with a superb range of varied and dramatic holes. Conditioning is generally excellent as the club poached one of Valderrama’s greenkeepers to come and oversee course maintenance! Considering the course’s holes, condition and length, it’s not surprising the club is building a reputation quickly and is hosting some decent tournaments.

El Puerto was built by former Ryder Cup star Manuel Pinero in 2001 with tour events in mind. The course is certainly tough enough, stretching to 7,000 yards and with plenty of water to keep you honest. In fact it must be avoided on every hole from the 2nd to the 10th. Careful choice of tees ensures the course is playable for all standards.

Your Reviews

  • 4 out of 5 Excellent day's golf

We played this one, PGA Catalunya and emporda on along weekend and, to our surprise, enjoyed Mas Nou the most. Not too tight for mid-teens handicappers, very varied holes, good condition, spectacular views, not expensive. (Can you tell I had 39 points?)

  • 3 out of 5 Very tight

Stuck on top of a mountain most holes very tight with lots of lost balls down the side of the mountain. Good course for holiday golf but wouldn't want to play every week. Very wet when we played as Barcelona had been suffering major rain fall but generally in good condition.
