There is a distinct feeling of a bygone era at beautiful Swinley, from the sign at the bottom of the gate which is no bigger than a sheet of A4 to the fact scorecards have only recently been introduced and stroke indexes are simply arranged 1-18 as per the hole number. This is a course to be enjoyed and appreciated rather than challenged or overpowered. It is in incredible condition and stunningly beautiful with bursts of colour on every hole. England’s mini Augusta? It’s not a bad comparison.
