Frank Pont, a designer with an impressive portfolio on the continent for his work at Royal Hague and beyond, is helping Broadstone enhance its heathland feel in line with that envisaged by Colt back in 1898. Heather has especially been encouraged on the 15th and this ‘mini Gleneagles’ is getting better and better. “The work we are doing at Broadstone has many similarities to what we did at Tandridge and De Pan in the Netherlands,” says Pont. “Our aim is to reinstate the original strategy of the holes while restoring the beauty of Colt’s very specific bunkering style. In my view Broadstone should really be among the top 50 UK courses, and it is our challenge to help it achieve its full potential.”
