A new entry in our GB&I Top 100 last year, Sherwood Forest has overtaken Lindrick and is fast approaching Notts (Hollinwell) as Nottinghamshire’s premier course. A woodland-heathland mixture, it has made great strides in recent years and has by no means reached its summit. There have been a number of alterations to the course as it strives for even higher acclaim – in particular to the layout of the bunkering and woodland management. These have been taken under the supervision of Ken Moody of Creative Golf Design.
This winter they have completed reshaping of bunkers on the 8th, 9th and 10th and have raised the rear of the green on the 9th and rebuilt the 10th’s teeing ground. In April this year they will hold the English Senior Women’s Close Amateur Championship and will be Nottinghamshire’s County Course.
