Unless you fly from Glasgow to Campbeltown, Machrihanish takes a bit of getting to. That said, the drive round Loch Lomond is a spectacular one. The 423-yard 1st sets the tone, with a drive over the beach (which is in play). From there it is fantastically quirky golf with blind approaches from rippling fairways to sunken greens the order of the day.
