Some of Tain is located right on the coast but even that doesn’t play in an especially linksy manner with only brief glimpses of the Dornoch Firth/North Sea. However, it doesn’t mean this mainly heathland track – there is plenty of heather and gorse to punish you – isn’t highly enjoyable, with the dog-legging 2nd and long par-3 17th two of the best holes.
