The green fee suggests Open Championship brilliance and though it doesn’t perhaps quite live up to that price tag, The Carrick on Loch Lomond is delightful nonetheless. Nine holes are played on the Highland heath looking down on the smart clubhouse before sweeping down to the loch on the back nine. ‘Tappit Doon’, the elevated par-3 14th, gets the headlines, but the par 5 next hole along the loch is a better hole on this Ladies Scottish Open venue.
