Rockliffe Hall

What we say

One of the leading stay and play venues in the north east, Rockliffe opened in 2009 and comprises an outstanding Marc Westenborg layout and a five star hotel on the banks of the River Tees. It’s long and challenging and has a classy collection of holes with several being defended by water. It certainly proved a tough test for this year’s Trilby Tour finalists.

Set in 375 acres of stunning countryside, on the banks of the River Tees and within the picturesque village of Hurworth is Rockliffe Hall Golf Course, due to open in June 2009. The  five star hotel and large luxury spa is due to open later in the year. The exclusive resort is being constructed with the existing 18th Century country house at its core, with sympathetic restoration and extention of the hall to create a 63-bedroom hotel and spa. Designed by Marc Westenborg (from Hawtree Limited, golf course architects) the 7,879 yard 18 hole championship course is one of the longest and most challenging in europe. The course has been created with the environment in mind, introducing three new lakes and eight beautiful reed beds which fit seemlessly into the countryside. The accompanying amenities will make it one of the best golfing facilities in the UK, with top class practice facilities and a stunning new clubhouse with fantastic panoramic views.

What a set up. Everything about this place is pure class. The clubhouse, the locker room and the unbelievable staff. The food is quality and the surroundings are beautiful. Oh yeah and the course is even better. If you dont visit Rockcliffe your live to regret it. You've been told.
