What we say...
A convertible sleeve waterproof, windproof and breathable jacket.
The Ashworth’s bright red colour might make it stand out, but our test is based on much more than looks. Ashworth has a great name for making decent apparel, and this attempt at a waterproof suit is pretty decent.
You’ll find the fabric more scratchy and noisy than some – sounding like a marching army pounding the fairway is not everyone’s idea of fun. But as a rounded product, which includes most features you’d expect of a golf waterproof suit, including a generous size and a very good three-year waterproof guarantee, you could do a lot worse. Without the option for removing full or half-sleeves, it almost feels like Ashworth has missed a trick to get our attention over the competition.
The Ashworth golf waterproofs are Probably not a suit you’ll rush to get your hands on, because it feels more of an extension to Ashworth’s golf clothing range than a specialist waterproof garment.
