TaylorMade’s new M6 Rescue is their longest and most versatile yet.
For the first time ever, TaylorMade have produced a hybrid with Twist Face technology, following the lead of the new for 2019 M5 and M6 fairway woods and drivers and last year’s M3 and M4 drivers.
The technology means the faces have been modified to counteract the gear effect on common mis-hits in the high-toe and low-heel, and produce longer and straighter shots across the face with more consistency.
As the face of the M6 Rescue is significantly smaller than that of the M6 driver, the face curvature is thus more pronounced. As a result, the two-tone crown has been meticulously designed to mask its increased curvature.

TaylorMade M6 Rescue: TG Verdict
TaylorMade invented the modern hybrid with the Rescue in 2003. They’ve learnt a huge amount about the category since then, and it could be argued with the M6 rescue, three di erent GAPR options, plus a P790 UDI (driving iron) they have the best set up to fill gaps between your shortest fairway wood and longest iron.
The M6, like the driver and fairway, now has TwistFace, which helps reduce toe and heel strike dispersion from 20 yards in the M4 rescue to eight. The lightweight face catapults shots high and long and the M6 is really forgiving, too. It’s a lovely club golfer option, meaning the mid-wide body suits golfers who enjoy (and have more success) hitting woods more than long irons.

Twist Face Technology
After studying half-a-million of shots from a vast range of players, TaylorMade discovered our most common misses result from high-toe and low-heel impacts. They started first incorporating the technology in the driver, counteracting the high-toe miss (a hook) by “twisting” open the face and increasing the loft high on the toe to help straighten ball flight, and fixing the low-heel miss (a slice) by twisting the face closed and de-lofting the face in the low heel area.
For 2019 they have expanded this concept to the M5 and M6 fairway woods for the first time too, with the key difference being that because the faces are smaller, the geometry is slightly different (in the rescue, the curvature on the face is more pronounced).

Low GC Steel body and Stepped Crown
The M6 Rescue features a low CG steel body construction with a stepped crown creating
a lower CG and easy alignment. It also features a thinner and faster face for improved ball speed and overall distance.
Redesigned Speed Pocket
A redesigned more flexible Speed Pocket with a TPU slot insert that sits flush with the sole delivers a larger COR area with better off-center performance, especially on low-face strikes and improved turf interaction.
