What’s in the bag of Minjee Lee, LPGA star and two-time ladies’ Major golf champion.

Today’s Golfer’s ‘What’s In The Bag’ insight is brought to you in association with Fujikura.

Despite having somewhat of a slow start to 2023, Minjee Lee soon turned it around and was knocking on the door until Autumn came and now has two wins to her name this season. She adds these victories to her two Major Championships and 10 other Tour titles.

Lee’s most recent win came at the 2023 BMW Ladies Championship where she defeated American Alison Lee in a playoff. Her other victory this season was at the Kroger Queen City Championship, Lee also won this event in a playoff against England’s Charley Hull.

Back in Summer 2022, Lee won her second Major title at the 2022 Women’s US Open with a record-low score of 271 (-13) and earned her what was the largest payday to date in women’s golf history – $1.8 million of the $10 million total purse, (Allisen Corpuz’s 2023 Women’s US Open victory earned her $2 million which is currently the largest payout).

The Australian, a former world amateur No.1 and the older sister of three-time Tour winner Min Woo Lee moved to a career-high 2nd in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings following an impressive 2022 season but after dropping as low as 13th this season she now finds herself back in the top 10.

The victory at Pine Needles was the 27-year-old’s eighth LPGA win and came ten years after she’d lifted the US Girls’ Junior Amateur Championship. Her first LPGA victory came at the Kingsmill Championship in 2015, with two more successes in 2016.

Minjee Lee won the 2022 Women's US Open with a record score and took home a record cheque.

Further victories followed in 2018 and 2019 before Lee won her first Major title at the 2021 Evian Championship. She won her seventh LPGA title at the 2022 Cognizant Founders Cup, just a few weeks before her US Open triumph.
