Chart Hills ranked among England’s Top 100 golf courses by Golf World

Chart Hills Golf Club has reaffirmed its position among the country’s best after being ranked in the latest Golf World Top 100 Courses in England.

Chart Hills Golf Club has regained its place among England’s best, returning to Golf World’s Top 100 Courses in England. The recognition crowns a five-year restoration and investment programme that began when RAMAC acquired the club in 2019 and set out to elevate the experience from first tee to final putt.

Chart Hills’ Faldo flair: The Loop, Valley of Sin, and iconic holes

Practice that feels like play. The Loop is a new six-hole par-3 course, designed by Sir Nick Faldo and positioned beside the range. It’s quick, tactical, and perfect for sharpening wedge control before your tee time or adding a fun, competitive finish after your round.

The club has also unveiled a 668 m² putting green, inspired by some of Faldo’s favourite contours, including a cheeky Valley of Sin. Expect slopes that teach touch, pace, and green-reading in a way a flat practice surface simply can’t.

Chart Hills first opened in 1993 and still delivers the sort of drama Faldo fans adore. The par-5 “Anaconda” 5th features one of Europe’s longest bunkers, snaking into your sightline from the tee. And the island-green 17th is a pulse-lifting late-round test that rewards nerve and precise yardage.

Fairways for all seasons, tees for every golfer

Back in 2020–21, Chart Hills completed an ambitious sandcapping project across all 18 fairways. The goal? Year-round playability and consistency are a rare feat for English parkland golf. The result has been widely praised by returning visitors who’ve found the course firmer, truer, and more resilient through wet spells.

Through 2024–25, the club turned its attention to the Championship course’s 72 tee boxes. Each was stripped, levelled, drained, and re-turfed to deliver consistency and presentation all year round. New yardage-based markers encourage golfers to choose the right challenge for the day, from just above 5,500 yards to over 7,100 yards.
