Ping i20 fairway woods

PING’s new i20 fairway woods share the good looks of the driver, but also deliver superb results from a wide variety of lies.
The first thing you notice is the compact nature of the woods at address, and it’s this compact shape design that ensures the clubhead glides through heavy grass, as well as off the shorter blades of the fairway.
“We gave the fairway woods and hybrids the same matte-finish (as the driver) and their designs offer the high-launching forgiveness that makes them reliable from all turf conditions and from the tee,” said John A Solheim, Chairman and CEO at PING.
Engineers have positioned the centre of gravity low and deep which increases the dynamic loft at impact, which in turn generates a higher trajectory but with low spin for impressive distance.
The i15 fairway woods that went before were very much aimed at the better player, and while the i20 woods offer good levels of forgiveness, they are also workable too.
The new woods will retail at £200 each – for more details, check out the next issue of Today’s Golfer magazine which goes on sale on January 26.
