TaylorMade Rocketballz Woods
Last updated:
TaylorMade’s new RocketBallz fairway woods and hybrids don’t just have an impressively-catchy name – but they are also packed with the latest game-improvement technology.
In the past few years, all the talk has been of moving the centre of gravity lower and deeper to manufacture a soaring ball flight. TaylorMade looked closely at this and decided that they could still get the high launch by keeping the CG position low in the head, but by moving it closer to the face they could reduce spin for more distance.
The results have been impressive and, along with the creation of a Speed Pocket behind the face, golfers can expect a significant gain off the deck and from the tee.
In fact, TaylorMade’s testing has found that better players can actually obtain a further 17 yards compared to the 2011 Burner model.
In terms of looks, the RBZ fairway woods have a larger, deeper face and look more appealing to hit at address because of the bigger footprint.
