TECH TALK The purpose of the compression channel that runs along the front of the sole is to add spring to the lower part of the clubface. This channel and an improved variable-thickness face help the hybrid produce more springlike effect than last year’s model. It’s also designed to increase the launch angle by more than two degrees for higher shots that travel further.
