L “This is the perfect stick for the wannabe. A transition set of irons for a golfer on the upswing. The traditional look doesn’t offend.”
M “This club is pure. It’s not forged, but it feels like it is, and the forgiveness is amazing. The ball flight is controllable and predictable. I can also work the ball. Wow!”
HOT A comforting club that doesn’t look like it belongs in a tool box. Though the revamped AP1 has been around for two years, it still gets high marks for making good use of multiple materials without forgetting that size – as in not too big – matters.
NOT The AP1 proved Titleist could make an iron that mid-handicappers could hit. Now it’s time to design a similar hybrid that could replace the 4-iron in this set.
