Two of De Vere’s most spectacular venues, Slaley Hall and The Carrick on Loch Lomond, have been placed alongside some of the best golf courses in the World, after being included in the elite ‘Preferred Golf Club’ initiative.
The Preferred Golf Club offers member’s unique access to legendary courses around the world, such as Pebble Beach, Pinehurst and Hilton Head in the United States, as well as leading resorts across Europe, such as Finca Cortesin and Lough Erne. Additionally, the programme offers discounts on travel costs, golf equipment, room and car upgrades, and complimentary rounds of golf, creating a global community which offers exceptional standards of golf and service.
Establishing De Vere’s portfolio of venues as amongst the best in the country, The Carrick on Loch Lomond golf course has joined the 5-star hotel at the resort within the ‘Preferred’ directory.
Having been awarded ‘Hotel of the Year’ at the prestigious 2010 Catey Awards and ‘Best Resort Hotel in Scotland’ at the latest Golf Tourism Scotland Awards, the luxury Cameron House Hotel enjoys a position as a ‘Preferred Hotel’ of the World, and the golf course at The Carrick now joins the hotel in the equivalent golf directory.
Since opening in 2007 the Carrick has already hosted the Ladies European Tour as well as the bi-annual PGA Cup matches. The Carrick has established a reputation for offering unrivalled panoramic views of Loch Lomond, and has become a recognised venue for discerning golfers in Scotland, the UK and further afield.
Joining The Carrick in the Preferred Golf Club is Slaley Hall, which is set in the Northumbrian countryside.
De Vere Slaley Hall has played host to a number of top class tournaments since first opening in 1989 with the European Tour regularly visiting between 1996 and 2002, with players such as Lee Westwood and Retief Goosen lifting trophies in front of the Edwardian House hotel.
More recently the European Senior Tour’s flagship event, the PGA Senior Championship has been hosted over the Hunting course, proving the course remains one of the premier venues in the UK and is well deserved of its place in the Preferred Golf Club.
Daniel Hodson, Director of Golf and Leisure for De Vere, commented, “We are extremely passionate about achieving the highest possible standards at all our resorts and the positions for The Carrick and Slaley Hall in the Preferred Golf Club confirms that we are meeting these standards.
“We are always looking to enhance the experience of our guests and add value to what we can offer and the Preferred Golf Club enables us to welcome visitors from all over the globe, and further our relationship with some of the best known resorts in the world.”
As two of the premier resorts in the UK, Slaley Hall and The Carrick at Cameron House are two of only five sites in the British Isles invited to the Preferred Golf Club scheme.
With a directory of over 80 top-tier courses in North America, Asia, Africa, South America, Europe and the Middle-East, the Preferred Golf Club offers exclusive offers to members all over the World.
