Great twilight deal at top Cheshire resort

As the North West prepares to welcome the world’s best golfers to the Open Championship at Royal Lytham, top 2-FORE!-1 venue the Mere Golf Resort & Spa is offering golfers the opportunity to take advantage of a new pay and play ‘Twilight Package’ for the summer.

Having just hosted the R&A regional qualifiers for the Open, golfers can now experience championship golf at its best.

Players can follow in the footsteps of the ‘open qualifiers’ and play a round of golf for £45 (available from 3pm, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays until 30th September) or bring their friends and have a 4 ball for £160.

“We want golfers from far and wide to be able to enjoy the experience of playing at our championship course.  Having prepared the course for the recent Open qualifiers, I am confident players will be impressed with the quality and condition of our greens and fairways as the course has never been in better condition,” commented Joe Gates, Mere’s Golf Operations Manager.

Set in private Cheshire parkland, the course is one of the best prepared and well-conditioned golf courses in the North of England. It was designed in 1935 by the world-famous golfer James Braid, five times winner of the Open.

The 18-hole, 6,882 yard, par-71 course is both picturesque and challenging and runs alongside The Mere lake with water, ravines and thick vegetation, all designed in to keep the game interesting and players focused.

The resort has the UK’s only floating golf ball driving range, for developing the accuracy of short games whilst improving play from the tee.
