Monty wins US Senior PGA Championship

Colin Montgomerie is still on cloud nine after claiming his maiden major championship with a four stroke victory at the US Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores, Michigan.

After a glittering career in which he topped the European Order of Merit eight times, Monty claimed the one prize that had so far eluded him, a major championship, after a stunning final round of 65.

“This is an incredibly proud moment for me. I have come very close to winning Major Championships in the past and it’s great to finally win one, especially considering the incredibly talented players that were in the field this week,” commented Montgomerie.
