New S2 and S2 Forged irons from Cobra
Last updated:
Cobra has launched new S2 and S2 forged irons aimed at the improving golfer and the skilled golfer respectively.
The S2 irons are designed to produce maximum distance and accuracy for mid-handicapper golfers who prefer a wider sole design to inspire confidence over the ball.
The club head is cast from stainless steel and features a polymer topline and toe insert alongside an expanded urethane sole insert and an aluminium back plate to dampen vibrations.
All of these, say Cobra, work together to lower the centre of gravity, increase the MOI and improve launch, accuracy and distance.
The S2 irons come with either the ultralight Cobra/Aldila DVS-2 graphite or Nippon NS Pro 1030H steel shafts.
The S2 forged irons are aimed at the better player who demands more feel, control and workability from their clubs.
They are forged from carbon steel but feature a shallow cavity to increase forgiveness while still retaining the thin top line better players prefer.
The S2 Forged irons feature the Cobra/Nippon NS Pro 1130 Tour Shaft as standard.
The Cobra S2 Irons are available in men’s graphite and steel shafts (stock set 5-SW), and Women’s and Senior’s graphite shafts (stock sets also 5-SW) with a retail price of £499 for steel and £599 for graphite.
The Cobra S2 Forged Irons are available in men’s steel shafts (3-PW) with a suggested retail price of £749.
Both sets are available from October 1, 2009 and conform to the new groove regulations.
