Cobra reveal new King F6 Iron

Cobra’s technology story is not just limited to its woods,  the new King F6 irons are just as laden with hi-tech wizardry. Cobra’s engineers have broken down the set to individual clubs and designed each for its own specific purpose. So hollow heads and hot face inserts in the 3-5 Irons deliver a low cg, increased moi performance and higher flighted long iron shots. Half hollow heads in the 6 and 7 irons provide an extremely thin face and optimised cg position for hitting more greens in regulation. While cavity back’s in the 8 to PW offer a low back cg location increasing spin and control when your in the scoring zone.

That’s not the full story either. Harder 17-4 stainless steel in the 3-7 irons helps maximise distance and a 431 stainless steel in the 8-SW increases feel. Cobra’s engineers have also looked closely at the clubs grooves and developed a clever progressive spin story which sees V grooves being used on the 4-6 irons to help increase distance and consistency and U grooves on the 7-PW to optimise spin and control.

CobraAll in all we reckon the F6’s are a very high spec iron. They’ve been well thought out and combined into a lovely head shape with narrow top edges and a sole width that shouldn’t offend anybody. A super sleek nickel chrome and pvd finish just put the icing on the top of a super looking set of irons.

Expect to see the F6’s appearing in golf shops from late January with prices for a 5-PW set starting from £429 (s) and £519 (g). Stock shafts are FST’s Steel Flighted and the Matrix Red Tie graphite. For further information visit www.cobragolf.co.uk.
