Under Armour introduce tiered weather-proof innovation
Published: Last updated:
Under Armour has unveiled its Autumn/Winter collection of performance apparel with a simple new three-tiered system to explain its differing levels of weather protection.
Storm 1: Gives golfers water-resistant clothing through Under Armour’s DWR finish, which repels water making it suitable for light rain / showers where waterproofs aren’t necessary.
Key Storm 1 garments: UA Elemental Golf Pant (£70), UA Tips Vest (£85) & Jacket (£100), UA Flagstick Storm Fleece ¼ Zip (£50) and the UA Storm Links ¼ Zip (£55).
Storm 2: Takes things up a level with highly water-resistant and windproof garments, featuring 3-layer bonded fabrics and windproof materials to shield golfers from the elements.
Key Storm 2 garments: UA Elemental ½ Zip (£75), UA Elemental Jacket (£85).
Storm 3: Delivers clothing to golfers that is both windproof and waterproof, and is suitable for the wettest conditions winter golf can throw at us on the course. To do this, Under Armour uses cocona fabrics, which disperse moisture and dry incredibly fast, and a 2.5 layer bonded fabric for a fully breathable construction.
Key Storm 3 garments: UA Storm Dry Movement Jacket (£100), UA Storm Dry Movement ½ Sleeve (£75) and UA Storm Dry Movement Pant (£70).
The Autumn / Winter 2015 range also sees the return of both ColdGear and ColdGear Infrared technologies. A collection of baselayers, polos, headwear and accessories complete the range.
