LIV Golf team signs major new deal with equipment brand

It’s the second time a manufacturer has put pen to paper with a LIV Golf franchise.
Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII and Callaway set the ball rolling and now LIV Golf team Torque GC have put pen to paper on a huge new sponsorship deal ahead of the league’s next event in Mexico City.
The agreement will see Torque’s quartet – which is captained by the LIV’s standout player so far in 2025, Joaquin Niemann, and also features his Chilean compatriot Mito Pereira, Colombian Sebastian Munoz, and Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz – all play Ping clubs, wear the brand’s headwear, and use their staff bags.
“All four of the Torque GC team members played Ping equipment prior to turning professional and continue to do so today,” said Ping CEO and president John K Solheim.
“We’ve had strong relationships with each of them throughout their careers. They are great friends and tremendous competitors. We look forward to following their successes both as a team and individuals as they help increase Ping’s awareness to golfers around the world.”
Niemann, who currently tops this season’s LIV Golf standings thanks to two wins in the opening four events, also won the Saudi International on the Asian Tour late last year to claim the distinction of being the first to win with Ping’s new G440 driver.
“My first set of Ping clubs was one of their junior sets and I’ve had Ping clubs in my bag ever since,” the 26-year-old explained.
“They’re an engineering company that puts product performance above all else. The equipment and service their tour reps provide gives our team the confidence to go out and compete for the podium every week.
“Mito, Carlos, Sebastian and I are honored, and grateful Ping has chosen to support Torque GC in such a meaningful way.”
Torque GC have won four team events since being formed in 2023, though their only podium place so far this season was a third-place finish in Adelaide.
