Major championship-winning brand enters the zero-torque putter market – with a twist!

Toulon are the latest brand to join the zero-torque revolution with the launch of their Formula Series putters

Toulon are renowned for manufacturing some of the game’s best putters, and now they are entering the very competitive zero-torque putter market with three models they hope can challenge the best zero-torque putters.

The latest release of Toulon putters is called the Formula Series and comes just months after the 2025 Collection was unveiled.

Toulon Formula Series Putter and Headcover

Having been pressured by golfers for the past couple of years, Toulon have finally decided to join the zero-torque party, but they have taken a slightly different approach from everyone else.

Rather than producing only 90° toe-up putters, like you see with L.A.B. Golf putters, Odyssey Ai-One Square 2 Square models, PXG ZT putters, etc, Toulon are offering multiple super high MOI (moment of inertia) putters with varying degrees of toe up (as opposed to toe hang).

This means not all putters within the Toulon Formula Series are completely zero-torque, but it does mean there are more extremely forgiving models to choose from, if a 90° toe-up putter doesn’t suit your stroke.

At Toulon HQ in Vista, California, they found that golfers have a stroke path and face rotation that becomes very consistent when better matched to a specific putter – and the zero-torque movement is confining golfers to a strictly 90° toe-up option.

This pigeon-holing into toe-up putters is a sensible solution as long as a golfer is willing to make significant adjustments to their putting stroke. Fully zero-torque putters are an excellent option for many golfers. But all golfers deliver the putter head in different ways.

Bearing this in mind, Toulon set out to create a series of zero-to-very low torque putters that would more wholly match rotational profiles that the majority of golfers already have.

The result is the Toulon Formula Series, comprising three models – the center shafted, very-low torque Formula CS, the even-lower torque Formula 45, and the zero-torque Formula 90.

Most golfers are inconsistent putters. You just have to look at the professional tours where, despite the Toulon Hoyllwood being the best blade putter of 2025, the majority are playing with mallet putters.

Most mallets have CG (center of gravity) positioned towards the rear of the head and thus produce a putter face that opens in a golfer’s takeaway. That’s fine for a golfer who has a stroke with more face rotation. For this type of stroke, the golfer can rotate the face back to square at impact and produce putts that start on line.

However, many golfers struggle with rotating the face back to square. For those players, the Formula Series is well worth considering. Toulon’s new putters are designed to stay square to your path, allowing for a squarer face at impact that improves your start line and helps you hole more putts.

Toulon Formula Series putters: Design and technology

Toulon are known for crafting beautiful putters, and the Formula Series is no different.

With low-to-zero torque putters, you’re often asked to sacrifice aesthetics, but that just isn’t the case with this range of putters.

Toulon worked countless hours dialing in the look, sound, and feel so the Formula Series putters deliver not only the performance experience you’d expect from them, but also the beauty.

Multi-material construction and obsessive attention to every detail led Toulon to this combination of science and art.

All Formula putters feature their major championship-winning Deep Diamond Mill face pattern. This pattern is designed to create an improved roll and help create a desirable sound and feel.

Toulon Formula Series putters are designed to match your stroke

Formula Series putters are designed to have incredibly low torque with face rotation profiles to match your stroke.

Many golfers were taught to rotate the putter head during their strokes. Some golfers learned this better than others, but for those who didn’t (and I’m one of them), a different rotational profile of the putter head is a better solution.

So, rather than being pigeon-holed into one torque profile that you must adjust to, Toulon’s Formula putters were created to have different rotational profiles to match your stroke.

With torque from very low to zero, Toulon have a Formula putter that will better match your stroke than any other brand offering purely zero-torque (90° toe-up) putters.

When you have a putter that is in harmony with your stroke, you’ll notice one thing immediately – more putts being made.

Which Toulon Formula Series putter is best for you?

Zero-torque and super high MOI

If you have or want a straight back, straight through stroke path, you’ll be best suited to the Formula 90 model. This type of stroke path works best with very little face rotation. Formula 90 is designed to stay very square to any path, but shines for a stroke like this. With more than 6,000 MOI, Formula 90 is also incredibly forgiving.

Designed 90° toe-up. This putter is the most rearward shafted of all Formula Series putters, with three lines to help you align properly. Formula 90 also features a multi-material construction, allowing for a very forward center of gravity and massive MOI, making this design extremely forgiving on mishits.

It is a zero-torque design that will stay square throughout your stroke, making it the perfect match for a golfer looking to eliminate face rotation in their stroke. Eliminating the variable of added player face rotation can simplify putting for many players, allowing for more consistent face angles and start lines.

As with CS and 45, 90 is available in Heavy Spec, built with heavier head weights and a longer, heavier 15-inch grip. Toulon recommends you order two inches longer than your normal playing length for Heavy Spec.
Head weight Standard - 370g (with 10g weights installed) | Heavy - 390g (with 20g weights installed)
Toe up 90°
Onset 14mm
Shaft lean 0.7°
Loft 1.5° - 5.5°
Lie angle 68° - 72°

Near zero-torque with super high MOI

If you have a very shallow arc to your stroke, you’ll be best suited to the Formula 45 model. With over 6,000 MOI and very nearly zero torque, the Formula 45 allows for a small amount of face rotation and will naturally arc slightly during your stroke.

Designed 45° toe-up, this model is shafted slightly rearward from center, with three lines to help you align properly. Like all Formula Series putters, the 45 uses a multi-material construction, allowing Toulon to move the center of gravity very forward to create unbelievable forgiveness.

With the hosel moved rearward, this near zero-torque design is a perfect match for a golfer with very little face rotation in their stroke.

One of the most common bits of feedback from golfers who have tried zero-torque is that putts miss to the left. If that describes you, Formula 45 is an excellent choice.

Like the CS, the 45 putter is available in Heavy Spec, built with heavier head weights and a longer, heavier 15-inch grip. Toulon recommends you order two inches longer than your normal playing length for Heavy Spec.
Head weight Standard - 370g (with 10g weights installed) | Heavy - 390g (with 20g weights installed)
Toe up 45°
Onset 12mm
Shaft lean 0.4°
Loft 1.5° - 5.5°
Lie angle 68° - 72°

Low torque and super high MOI

If you have a putting stroke with a moderate amount of arc to your stroke, you’ll be best suited to our Formula CS model. With over 6,000 MOI and incredibly low torque, the CS will naturally arc slightly during your stroke.

Designed with zero toe hang, this putter is center shafted with three small lines to help you align properly. Formula CS uses a multi-material construction that helps Toulon create a very forward center of gravity and massive MOI, making this design extremely forgiving on mishits.

With its unique hosel position, the very low torque Formula [CS] is a perfect match for a golfer with a small amount of face rotation in their stroke.

If you’ve tried other zero-torque putters and found yourself struggling with a miss to the left (for a right-handed golfer), Formula CS is an excellent choice.

It is also available in Heavy Spec, featuring heavier head weights and a longer, heavier 15-inch grip. Toulon recommends you order two inches longer than your normal playing length for Heavy Spec.
Head weight Standard - 370g (with 10g weights installed) | Heavy - 390g (with 20g weights installed)
Toe hang
Onset 8mm
Shaft lean
