The Open Championship 2010 – equipment count

By The Open 2010

The equipment in the bags of the world’s best players at The Open Championship at St Andrews has all been counted and the results are in!

No fewer than 156 players took to the fairways, and sometimes the rough, on the Old Course. Each of them carried golf clubs from the world’s leading golf manufacturers and we’ve listed the top three manufacturers below in terms of drivers, irons, shoes and balls.

TaylorMade lived up to its name as the No1 driver in golf by topping the big dog charts with their family of drivers including the R9 SuperTri and the Burner Superfast while Titleist reaffirmed its dominance of the golf ball market with 58 per cent of the golf balls in play, including the ProV1 and ProV1x, at the world’s oldest golf tournament.
