Four Nations golf competition postponed
Last updated:
Concierge Golf Ltd, organisers of the new Four Nations Golf Challenge that gives club golfers the unique opportunity of playing for their country, has today announced the postponement of the inaugural event until 2011.
A statement said that competition entries were well on target and many companies and television organisations had pledged to be sponsors of this unique tournament. But the required level of commercial support necessary to host the Grand Final to the planned standard has been curtailed due to the current recessionary problems experienced by sponsors.
Roger Brady, Director of Concierge Golf, said: “Rather than compromise on the level of quality planned for this important national event, we decided to proceed with the tournament in 2011 in the best interest of competitors and sponsors and the importance of this new championship.
“We were also encouraged in this decision by the many companies who have pledged their support for the event to take place in 2011. Regional qualifying will now take place in May 2011 with the Grand Final in September/October 2011. We have now intensified our current administrative and planning programmes accordingly.”
Entry fees are being returned to all competitors from the week commencing April 25, together with a reserved early entry option for the 2011 event. New competitors may register for the 2011 now at www.fournationsgolfchallenge.co.uk with entry fees not due until September 2011.
Concierge Golf thanks everyone for their support and enthusiasm and if there are any questions regarding this decision, do not hesitate to contact the Tournament Office at stewart@fournationsgolfchallenge.co.uk or 01276 35505.
