Rate My Swing: 1664louis

“Your swing is not bad at all but I note that you overswing and slice the ball too.

“Dealing with the overswing first, at the top of your swing you’ll notice your right bicep and forearm fold very close together in a ‘v’ shape causing your left arm to collapse and overswing.

“At the top your right arm needs to feel it’s pushing out stretching the left arm. You will note your right arm should now only fold to a ‘right angle’ e.g. forming an ‘L’ shape. This is the position you are looking for.

“Everybody who slices has the clubface open (aiming right) of the path they are swinging the club through on, and this glancing blow causes the slice spin on the ball.

“I notice you take care forming your grip. Make sure your hands are turned ‘stronger’ to the right, seeing about three knuckles of the left hand. This will encourage them to turn through impact squaring the face.

“From the top of the swing you need to work on aiming the blow more to the ‘inside’ of the ball as your forearms and wrists roll through.

“Place another ball or headcover a couple of inches behind and to the right of the ball you are striking, avoid it so it trains you to develop the ‘inside’ approach path you need.

“All the best with it.”
