Flintoff and Redknapp do battle at Slaley Hall

Harry Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff called for team members to represent their respective sports with pride in a passionate dressing room team talk.

Joined by some of the headline names at this week’s DeVere Club PGA Seniors Championship, including Ian Woosnam, Sam Torrance and Sandy Lyle, the two teams, captained by Flintoff and Redknapp go head to head in a Fourball Better Ball Matchplay event.

“We are excited to get going this morning and it is definitely going to be competitive,” commented Flintoff. “There are some nerves around the dressing rooms, but I am confident the cricketers will come out on top.”

Joined by some of his former England team mates, Collingwood, Gough, Harmison, Onions and Hick, Flintoff, who is partnered today by Ian Woosnam will lead the teams off against Harry Redknapp and Sam Torrance.

“I am confident with our team and how the pairings have worked,” commented the Spurs manager just before teeing off. “I have asked the boys to give it everything they’ve got and let the cricketers have it.”

Redknapp is joined by his son Jamie, Peter Beardsley, Clive Allan and Kevin Bond.
