From Willie Park Sr to Xander Schauffele via Old and Young Tom, Arnie, Jack, Seve, Tiger and Rory, the list of Open Championship winners is a real who’s who of golf history.
Multiple Open champions
There have been 27 multiple Open champions in the tournament’s history. Harry Vardon holds the record with six, while James Braid, JH Taylor, Peter Thomson and Tom Watson each won five.
The only active players to have been crowned Champion Golfer of the Year on more than one occasion are Tiger Woods, Padraig Harrington and Ernie Els.
