USGA announce prize money for 125th US Open

Players at Oakmont will be competing for one of the largest US Open purses ever.

The 2025 US Open is about to get underway, and the USGA have now revealed the prize money for the 125th edition of the tournament.

The total prize fund for the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club remains unchanged from last year, $21.5 million.

This year’s winner will receive $4.3 million, which is equal to what Bryson DeChambeau took home in 2024. The runner-up will earn $2.322 million, while third place will take home $1.445 million.

Even those making the cut and finishing in 50th position will collect $49,761. Competitors who miss the cut will each receive $10,000.

The prize fund for the U.S. Open has grown significantly in recent years. In 2020, when Bryson DeChambeau claimed his first victory at Winged Foot, the total purse stood at $12.5 million, with the winner’s share at $2.25 million.
