What are the PGA Championship cut rules?

How many people will make the weekend at Quail Hollow? These are the PGA Championship cut rules…
The PGA Championship cut rules differ slightly to those of two of the other majors.
While the top 50 after the second round move on at the Masters, which extends the top 60 at the US Open, the PGA Championship follows The Open’s lead in having a much larger field going into the weekend.
After 36 holes at Quail Hollow, the top 70 plus ties in the 156-player field will make the cut and move on into the third round.
This also differs slightly from a regular PGA Tour event – including The Players – where the top 65 will get through.
This hasn’t always been the case, of course, as up until 1957 the PGA Championship was a match play tournament.
Do players who miss the PGA Championship cut still get paid?
Yes. Last time out, players who missed the cut at Valhalla received $4,000 from the PGA Championship purse – though that number is expected to go up this year.
