2027 Ryder Cup dates, venue, and anything else you need to know

We’ve known the host course for a while, and now the exact dates of the 2027 Ryder Cup have been announced…

The 2027 Ryder Cup will be 46th playing of the biennial contest between the United States and Europe.

It will also be the 100th anniversary of the very first Ryder Cup, which took place at Worcester Country Club, Massachusetts, where Walter Hagen’s US team beat Ted Ray’s Great Britain – as it was then – 9½-2½.

Where is the 2027 Ryder Cup?

The 46th matches will take place at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland.

It will be the second time the battle for the Samuel Ryder trophy has been held on the Emerald Isle. Last time out, in 2006, Ian Woosnam’s Europeans beat Tom Lehman’s American team by a record 18½-9½ margin at The K Club.

Who will be the 2027 Ryder Cup captains?

While we are still some way from the captains being picked, the smart money is on Tiger Woods to lead the US team. The 15-time major champion was the PGA of America’s choice for the 2025 matches at Bethpage, but Woods said he couldn’t do the job “justice” and Keegan Bradley was announced.

Woods is also a good friend of JP McManus, who owns Adare Manor and is the host of the popular pro-am named after the Irish businessman.

As for Team Europe, the likes of Justin Rose and Francesco Molinari are in the mix. And – win or lose in Bethpage – don’t rule out a third Luke Donald stint.

What are the 2027 Ryder Cup dates?

The centenary Ryder Cup will take place in the week commencing September 13, 2027.

The tournament dates will be Friday September 17 to Sunday September 19.

It is only the second time since the 1970s that the Ryder Cup has not been played in the last weekend of September or later. (The 2004 Ryder Cup at Oakland Hills was also held from September 17-19.)
