Here are the household names who will tee up in the 2025 Ryder Cup All-Star Match, how it works, and when and where you can catch the action…
After the success of the inaugural Ryder Cup All-Star Match in Rome two years ago, organizers have decided to bring it back for next week’s showdown at Bethpage. Here’s what we know so far…
What is the Ryder Cup All-Star Match?
Pretty much what it says on the tin! (Unless, like many of us, you’re staring at the list of competitors and struggling to put a face to the name.) Eight American celebrities will take on eight European celebrities in a watered-down version of the Ryder Cup on the eve of the main event.
What’s the Ryder Cup All-Star Match format?
It will be an 11-hole event where they will play the first five holes of Bethpage’s infamous Black course, before cutting across to the 13th to play the remaining six.
There will be four matches, each made up of two players from the US team taking on two Europeans.
The scramble format will see every player hit a tee shot, with both players in each team then hitting their next shot from the best position. This process will repeat until the ball is holed.
There is one point on offer per hole, which means there will be 11 points available in each match and 44 overall – which means the first team to 22.5 points wins.
How can we watch the Ryder Cup All-Star Match?
The match will take place on Wednesday, September 24, and get underway at 7.45am ET (12.45pm BST). All coverage will be on the official Ryder Cup website and app, while Sky Sports Golf will keep on top of the action in the UK.
Who’s playing in the Ryder Cup All-Star Match?
Representing Team USA are NFL Hall of Famers Eli Manning and Michael Stragan, nine-time tennis grand slam champion John McEnroe, celebrity chef Bobby Flay, SNL comedian Colin Jost, and multi award-winning musicians Noah Kahan, Kane Brown and Miranda Lambert.
As for Team Europe, he may have famously been conceived just down the road, but London-born Brooklyn Beckham – son of David and Victoria – will pull on the yellow and gold. He will be joined by NBA legends Pao Gasol and Toni Kukok, Stanley Cup winner Teemu Selanne, Spanish celebrity chef Jose Andres, and actors Catherine Zeta-Jones, Tom Felton and Oliver Phelps.
