With the 45th Ryder Cup in New York edging closer, the hosts will need a win to close the gap on their European rivals. But that hasn’t always been the case. So which team has the most Ryder Cup wins?

The first 19 editions of the Ryder Cup were played between teams from Great Britain and the United States.
The Ryder Cup was not played in 1939, 1941, 1943 or 1945 due to World War II.

The 2001 Ryder Cup was pushed back a year due to the September 11 attacks in New York City, while the 2020 matches were also postponed in the wake of the Covid pandemic.
