Where the stars will be staying during Open week

This is the interior of one of the fabulous Turnberry lodges set to be frequented by the world’s top golfers – and their families – during Open week.
A total of 89 lodges and cottages are located close to the luxury five star Turnberry Hotel itself which has been booked en bloc that particular week by the Royal & Ancient GC.
Clearly it’s been a rush to get the refurbished hotel done in time after builders decided to down tools at the start of the year.
However, everything should be hunky dory with all 207 rooms – occupied by R&A officials and the players themselves – finished well in time for the start of The Open.
Altogether there are a dozen lodges – eight of them having six bedrooms and the other four a whopping eight bedrooms!
And they’re all pretty special and provide excellent amenities with one of the main features of some lodges being a spacious lounge on the upper level. No doubt, a good spot for Tiger and co. to chill out after a tough day on the links…
