£100,000 On Offer At 2013 British Par-3 Championship

An incredible prize fund of £100,000 is on offer to professionals competing in the Farmfoods British Par-3 Championship at Nailcote Hall this year.

As Europe’s most prestigious par-3 tournament celebrates its 80th anniversary, the organisers have doubled the amount on offer to competitors with the winner this year taking home a cheque for £25,000, £10,000 more than last year’s first prize.

Already one of the most lucrative golf events on the UK circuit, the last few years have seen the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship attract a truly world class field of major winners, Ryder Cup heroes and European Tour stars, including Tony Jacklin, Scott Jamieson, Ian Woosnam OBE, Marc Warren, Graeme Storm, Gary Boyd and Tommy Fleetwood, among many more.

Matthew Hayes, Managing Director of brand agency Champions (UK) plc, who organise the event, commented: “We are delighted to be able to announce this dramatic 100% increase in the Farmfoods British Par-3 Championship prize fund.

“The event has become one of the most successful golfing events in the UK and attracts major interest from sponsors, spectators, media and golfers alike. Golfing legend Tony Jacklin CBE, will once again host the event, which takes place from the 6th-9th August this year.

Also taking place either side of the Championship are two fantastic Celeb-Am days that regularly attract some of the country’s biggest stars including Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Bobby Charlton, Len Goodman, Peter Shilton OBE, Peter Schmeichel, Jasper Carrot, Johnny Herbert and William Roache MBE.
