It’s no exaggeration to say that the strength in depth of the men’s and women’s game has arguably never been greater than it is right now. There were a record-tying 11 first-time winners on the LPGA Tour last season, which was only two less than we saw on the PGA Tour. That does make picking out the ones to watch for 2023 very hard, but we think we’ve nailed it with these six who are primed for a big season ahead…

Nationality: American | Age: 25

Theegala would almost certainly have won the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year award had it not been for Cameron Young’s eye-catching performance at the 150th Open. Theegala made 80 percent of his cuts last season, notching three top fives, five top 10s and 11 top 25s to qualify for the Tour Championship. He nearly won in Phoenix and would have done so at the Travelers Championships had it not been for a late mishap. Nevertheless, he’s already in the field for the Masters, US Open and Open Championship and is an outside bet to make the US Ryder Cup team.
