The 2025 Women’s Open field will feature a mixture of professionals and amateurs from all around the world. The lineup features major champions, leading competitors from the LPGA and LET tours, as well as successful players who have earned their place through both pre-qualifying and final qualifying stages.
Where will the 2025 AIG Women’s Open be played?
The 2025 AIG Women’s Open is heading to South Wales, and taking place at Royal Porthcawl for the first time in the tournament’s history, from Thursday July 31 to Sunday August 3.
Established in 1891, this links course challenges players with its undulating fairways, deep bunkers, and unpredictable coastal winds. The setting offers stunning views of the Bristol Channel, while the firm, fast-running turf demands precision and strategic play.

How do you qualify for the AIG Women’s Open?
There are number of ways you can earn one of the 144 spots in AIG Women’s Open field.
The majority of the field will be made up by exemptions dished out to professionals and amateurs– providing they retain their status up to and during the tournament – while there is also a series of qualifying events.
Pre-Qualifying took place on 14th July at Delamere Forest, advancing 16 golfers to Final Qualifying.
Final Qualifying for the 2025 AIG Women’s Open will be held at Pyle & Kenfig in Bridgend, Wales, on Monday July 28. After 18 holes, at least three golfers will secure spots in the championship at Royal Porthcawl.

AIG Women’s Open qualification categories
1. Past winners of the Championship, aged 60 or under on 3 August 2025 (for all Champions up until 2024), provided that the player is still an active member of a recognised professional Tour.
2. The top 10 and anyone tying for 10th place in the 2024 AIG Women’s Open at St Andrews.
3. The top 15 LET players in the 2024 Final LET Order of Merit Points List.
4. The top 5 players, not already exempt, from the 2025 LET Order of Merit Points List as at Monday 7 July 2025.
5. The top 35 players in the 2024 LPGA Final CME Points List.
6. The top 25 players, not already exempt, from the 2025 LPGA Race to CME Globe Season as at Monday 7 July 2025.
7. The top 50 players on the 2025 Rolex Rankings, week commencing Monday 30 June 2025.
8. The top 3 players, not already exempt, from the 2025 JLPGA Mercedes Ranking on completion of the JLPGA 2025 Suntory Ladies Open.
9. The top 2 players, not already exempt, from the 2025 KLPGA money list as at Monday 7 July 2025.
10. The winners of any recognised individual LET or LPGA Tour event in 2025.
11. The winner of the 2024 JLPGA Mercedes Ranking.
12. The winner of the 2024 KLPGA Money List.
13. The Chevron Championship (ANA Inspiration) Champions for 2021 to 2025.
14. The US Women’s Open Champions for 2021 to 2025.
15. The KPMG Women’s PGA Champion for 2021 to 2025.
