Bryson DeChambeau blasts LIV Golf venue in X-rated rant (and Brandel Chamblee’s weighed in, too!)

Bryson DeChambeau couldn't hide his feelings at the LIV Golf Mexico City setup.

US Open champ Bryson DeChambeau has copped a load of flack after lashing out at the course setup for the recent LIV Golf event in Mexico.

Bryson DeChambeau’s week in Mexico will be one he will want to forget.

And not just because he failed to hold onto the overnight lead going into the final round and allowed Joaquin Niemann in to take the title.

In a video posted on Instagram by @perisgolf, DeChambeau was caught letting his feelings known about the bunkers at Chapultepec during a practice round.

In the video, titled ‘Bryson DeChambeau’s bunker experience at CDMX’, the American is seen twice failing to get his ball out of the trap.

Turning to the camera, he says: “Worst f***ing bunkers ever! The worst.”

When someone – presumably a member of the greens staff – asked if it is “wet sand”, DeChambeau then appeared to say “you have to f***ing thump the ball”.

He added: “What the hell? You could hurt somebody’s wrist.”

He then hits another shot that stays in the sand.

“You can’t even get it out. It’s so bad.”

Of course, very few were sympathetic in the comments section – with the general vibe being “this is what playing public golf courses is like”.

And, of course, Brandel Chamblee weighed in. The former PGA Tour winner turned Golf Channel analyst never needs much of an invitation to lay into LIV’s roster of stars.

“He signed up for this when he signed on to be a puppet for a murderous dictator and to play a tour that does not value the best conditioned courses, but those that will hold events for a murderous dictator,” Chamblee posted on X.

He added that “this is what practice rounds are for” before adding: “You signed on for hundreds of millions, quit complaining.”

Still, at least DeChambeau can pull off the bunker shots when it matters
