PGA Tour Fall Series: Schedule, prize funds, format, key players and what’s at stake

How does the PGA Tour Fall Series work, and what’s on offer? Here’s everything you need to know.
Now that the FedEx Cup Playoffs have wrapped up and the massive bounty on offer has been dished out, we have arrived at the PGA Tour Fall Series – also known as the ‘FedEx Cup Fall’. The stage of the season that allows the rank-and-file PGA Tour members to compete for wins, points and money without some of the game’s biggest names.
With the recent change to the schedule, the primary season now runs from January to August, with September, October and November dedicated to the FedEx Cup Fall events.
How does it all work and what’s on offer?
For players who finished outside the top 50 in the FedEx Cup standings after the Playoffs, entry into next season’s Signature Events is on offer, as is a PGA Tour card if that hasn’t already been secured.
There is also $45 million worth of prize money to play for across the seven events and 500 FedEx Cup points available per tournament. So, whatever way you look at it, the Fall Series is a big deal.
For the PGA Tour Fall Series, players accumulate points on top of what they already earned throughout the regular season, up to and including the FedEx St Jude Championship. Then, the top 10 players on the FedEx Cup points list at the end of the Fall Series who are not already exempt will earn eligibility for the two Signature Events in 2026 that follow The Sentry in January.

In addition to the Signature Events, players ranked outside the top 70 at the start of the FedEx Cup Fall tournaments can secure their PGA Tour playing privileges for 2026. All they have to do is finish in the top 125 of the FedEx Cup standings at the end of the seven events.
For anyone who finishes outside the top 125, hope is not lost. Full cards will be up for grabs at PGA Tour Q-School, while those ranked in spots 126 to 150 when all is said and done will have conditional status.

Will we see any big names in the FedEx Cup Fall Series?
Yes. Given it is a Ryder Cup year, and after the criticism levelled at the majority of Team USA in 2023 for not playing any tournament golf between the end of the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the biennial showdown, we will see a host of the game’s best at the Procore Championship in Napa.
In fact, 10 members of the American Ryder Cup team have signed up for the event, which takes place two weeks before the Ryder Cup, from September 11 to 14. The only two names currently set not to take part are Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau.
DeChambeau is ineligible due to his ties to LIV Golf, whereas Schauffele is reportedly “undecided” about whether to add the tournament to his schedule.
