Justin Rose will take home the winner’s share of the FedEx St Jude Championship prize money after a playoff victory over JJ Spaun at TPC Southwind.

The top 70 players in the FedEx Cup standings got their Playoff campaigns underway this week as the PGA Tour’s revamped season run-in begins.

The three-tournament stretch, free from 36-hole cuts, began once more at the FedEx St Jude Championship, where a $20m purse is set to be split among the field.

The winner will take home $3.6m, with $2.16m awarded to the runner-up, and $1.36m to the player finishing third. There was also an elevated number of FedEx Cup points available this week, with the champion banking 2,000 points, some 1,250 more than received for winning a major.
