HOW MUCH?! The incredible amount of money Scottie Scheffler has banked in 2025
Last updated:

The World No.1 is a money-making machine, with the dominant force in golf continuing to rack up wins and Top 10s on the PGA Tour.
Scottie Scheffler has topped the money list on the PGA Tour every season since 2021-2022 – hardly surprising considering he’s lifted 16 trophies, including three majors, in that time. But while the wins provide big cheques, Scheffler is fantastic at securing handsome pay days even when he doesn’t have his best stuff, consistently making cuts (he’s on a run of 60 in a row) and securing top fives and 10s.
It’s that sort of form that makes him the best player in the world and has seen him top the official world golf rankings for 149 weeks, including the last 114, with the gap between him and Rory McIlroy getting wider. And yet, at The Open, Scheffler admitted that he doesn’t find golf fulfilling! Imagine how big a lead he’ll open when he does!
Heading into The Open at Royal Portrush, Scheffler had teed it up 15 times this season, having had a delayed start to the year following the freak hand injury he suffered at Christmas.
When he did return to action, the New Jersey native, who now resides in Texas, made a slow start (in his terms, at least), taking nine events to get his first win on the board.
That win came just a couple of weeks after the Masters – perhaps helping Rory McIlroy slip into the Green Jacket lit a spark – at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. He then won major No.3 on his next start at the PGA Championship before successfully defending The Memorial Tournament to make it three wins in four starts.
Three more top tens and big cheques followed before he moved one step away from the Grand Slam with victory at The Open at Portrush.
At the end of the regular PGA Tour season, Scheffler won another $18 million without swinging a club as he finished top of the season-long standings to bank the first of the three FedEx Cup jackpots as well as the Comcast Business Top 10 bonus. After the BMW Championship, he picked up another $5 million from the FedEx Cup pot.
Let’s take a look at his 2025 prize money breakdown before delving into previous seasons…

Though he made almost $50m this year, the 29-year-old failed to match his incredible 2024 earnings, which were boosted by seven wins. He pocketed $62.2m, breaking the PGA Tour record. This included $29.2 million in prize money, a $25 million bonus for winning the Tour Championship, and an $8 million bonus for leading the Comcast Business Tour Top 10. He also banked a $1 million bonus for winning the Hero World Challenge.
In 2023, he banked $21m with two wins, and the season before picked up cheques for $14m with four wins.
If Scheffler continues to earn money at his current rate, it won’t be long before he joins Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy as the only men to break through the $100m mark.
He is currently third in the all-time list, having banked just north of $90m after picking up the winner’s cheque at The Open, where he won by four shots and was only the second current World No.1 to lift the Claret Jug.
Justin Rose’s victory at the FedEx St Jude Championship in August, meanwhile, saw the Englishman leapfrog Jim Furyk into 4th.
Scheffler will next tee up in Napa for a pre-Ryder Cup get-together at the Procore Championship, before heading to Bethpage to pull on the red, white and blue for a third time.
