Robert MacIntyre is a Scottish professional golfer who has established himself as one of the leading talents from his country in recent years. Since turning professional in 2017, MacIntyre has recorded multiple victories on the DP World Tour and, in 2024, secured his first PGA Tour title.
Who is Robert MacIntyre’s caddie?
Mike Burrow hails from Newcastle, England. His background reflects both his passion for golf and his commitment to hard work. Before transitioning into caddying full-time, he was himself a skilled amateur golfer, playing off a handicap of around 2 at his home club.
His early caddying experience included working alongside players such as Marcus Armitage, Garrick Porteous, Mike Lorenzo-Vera, Scott Henry, and Haotong Li. By mid-2024 Burrows took up the position on a full-time basis with MacIntyre, following a period of collaboration that began in late 2023.
One of Burrow’s early notable successes came during his time with Li, with whom he was part of the winning team at the 2018 Dubai Desert Classic. He also carried the bag for Danny Willett on multiple occasions, including during the Masters, when scheduling and injuries affected Willett’s usual looper arrangements.
A particularly well-known incident occurred in 2019, when he inadvertently violated a rule by standing on the line behind Li’s ball. This mistake led to a two-stroke penalty, costing Li a top-10 finish and nearly $100,000 in prize money. While it was a setback, the incident highlighted the pressure involved in the role of a professional caddie.
Since taking on the role with MacIntyre, Burrow has played a central part in one of the most productive phases of the golfer’s career. Under his guidance, MacIntyre has achieved strong finishes on both the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour, including a win at the Genesis Scottish Open in 2024, and many top-10 placements.
